As projects become larger and more complex in size
and scope, people with the ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks have become a
valuable asset to any company. This course covers the optimum usage of the
Project Management Tool of Microsoft (Microsoft Project 2003).
It will give you insight into the skills needed to
plan, organize, direct and control a project under a strong single point of
responsibility. Having ultimate responsibility for success or failure, the
Project Manager must provide project direction, planning and control of all
costs, schedules and resources with the ultimate goal of customer satisfaction.
For people in the Project Management world, some
form of management software is needed to assist them with achieving the goals
and objectives set for projects. Microsoft's Project 2003 software is aimed at
this market of professionals.
This course covers the principles of Project
Management and introduces the participants to MS Project 2003 Standard. |

The participants will learn to:

needed for managing projects.

Microsoft Project 2003 Standard.

Assign resources to keep track of the work
performed on each task.

equipment, time, and money.

Track how their projects progress and identify what to do if they don't
proceed according to plan.

Emphasis is placed on using the software to effectively create and
manage project schedules using accepted project management principles

| Case Study |
A case study will be interleaved with the training to ensure the discussion of practical aspects. The training will be approximately 50% concepts and 50% hands-on experience.

| Scope |
The scope of this training is limited to Project Planning, Project Scheduling, Project Monitoring and Project Reporting – using MS-Project 2003. Topics like Team management, Risk Analysis, Estimation and Project Costing are outside the scope of this training.
