Course	Introduction to Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM)
Level	Introductory
Overview	The participants will be introduced to VSAM data set organizations. They will learn how to design and maintain VSAM applications written in COBOL. They will also learn how to use Access Method Services (AMS) commands.
Objective	Participants will get to know about - VSAM dataset organizations and processing. The pupose and contents of Catalogs. IDCAMS commands. Defining and using Alternate Indexes. Application programming considerations.
Duration	Three (03) days: (09.30AM till 17.30AM)
Participant's Profile	Application programmers who have to design and maintain VSAM applications on mainframes.
Prerequisite	Working knowledge of TSO / ISPF. Job Control Language.
Follow-on session	Job Control Language (JCL) session is recommended after this course.
