Overview

The participants will become proficient in using MS Project 2000 for creating and optimizing their project plans, monitoring their progress, communicating project information and managing multiple projects. They will learn to :

  • Create and maintain a project schedule.

  • Assign resources to keep track of the work performed on each task.

  • Resolve resource conflicts to eliminate over-allocations on tasks.

  • Refine a project schedule by using advanced settings and options.

  • Save baseline and interim plans.

  • Use Project Central to track the progress of a project.

  • Filter and report schedule information.

  • Analyze the earned value of a project.

  • Import and export data.

  • Customize the MS Project 2000 environment.

  • Multi project management

A case study will be interleaved with the training to ensure the discussion of practical aspects. The training will be approximately 50% concepts and 50% hands-on experience.

The scope of this training is limited to Project Planning, Project Scheduling, Project Monitoring and Project Reporting – using MS-Project 2000. Topics like Team management, Risk Analysis, Estimation and Project Costing are outside the scope of this training.
